At the beginning of the 1960s, H.P. Schmitz, the company's founder, realised that global demand in the mechanical engineering industry made it necessary to innovate. Winding belts for spiral winding machines were constantly causing problems. There were few suitable materials on the market, yet customers demanded improvements in cost and quality as well as an increase in production

Thanks to the early formation of the association of family businesses HPS/AFH/THURINGIA, it soon became possible for customers throughout the world to order the materials they needed. To this day, we pride ourselves with a strong commitment to giving every customer the individual advice they need and strive to manufacture products of consistently high quality. Throughout the years, we have always adapted to the ever-changing requirements of production
